Martin J. Healy, MS, PT, ATC (Physical Therapist, Certified Athletic Trainer)
Martin brings 20 years of Orthopedic and Sports Medicine expertise and experience to Coastal Therapy. He excels in the area of preventative treatment and overuse disorders including lower back and neck dysfunction as well as foot/ankle, knee, shoulder and elbow. He also has designed numerous post-operative protocols allowing the return from surgery to be safe and as efficient as possible. He has worked in the field of athletic training at the high school, collegiate, national and international level including the Olympics and Pan-American Games. Martin strives to work closely with his patients to create a team approach with those involved in their health care to return patients back to full function as quickly and safely as possible.
Ernest Ledesma, PT
Ernest brings 15 years of orthopedic based physical therapy experience to Coastal Therapy. He has extensive experience in shoulder, knee, foot, ankle and spine rehabilitation. He has been trained in a variety of manual therapeutic based techniques from such programs as Cyriax, Mulligan, and Maitland. He has served as a guest lecturer at local physical therapy and physical therapy assistant programs in the Savannah area over the past 10 years. He has also aided in the development of physical therapy programs for knee, shoulder, foot and ankle post operative rehabilitation protocols for local physicians. Ernest and Martin have contributed to the running population in the Savannah area by hosting a free “Running Injury Clinic” at a local running shoe boutique every month. he has worked closely with the running and triathlon population in the Savannah area to improve their return to sport physical stature from overuse related injuries. Combining his understanding of evidence-based physical therapy interventions and his enthusiastic desire to aid in the recuperation of his patients, Ernest upholds the mission of Coastal therapy to provide the highest quality of care to all patients.
Deborah Prouty, PT
Debbie brings 8 years of experience of physical therapy experience to Coastal Therapy. She excels with neuro-based diagnoses with an emphasis on balance disorders and gait training. She also has experience in shoulder, hip, knee, foot, ankle, and spine rehab. In addition, Debbie is very active in the community instructing at a local university as well as providing continuing education courses on a variety of physical therapy related topics. She upholds the mission of Coastal Therapy to provide patients with the highest level of care with personalized treatment plans in order to return them to their full function as safely and quickly as possible.
Antonio Cofer, OT
Antonio brings 13 years of occupational therapy and industrial rehabilitation experience to Coastal Therapy. He is active nationally and internationally serving as a surveyor for the Commission of Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. He also serves as an accreditation evaluator for the American Council for Occupational Therapy Education throughout the United States.
